Welsh Sculpture and Welsh Sculpting have been my passion since leaving college.
As a Welsh Sculptor, there are numerous pieces of my sculpture in and around Swansea available to view in various public places and locations across the city, mainly in SA1 and the marina. Swansea sculpture is both interesting and varied thanks to the support of the City and County of Swansea that has funded numerous projects.
All of my sculpture in Swansea is stone carving on buildings in public areas. The slideshow above depicts numerous carvings which represent various historical features and events including focus on the City’s maritime and history. All projects were carved in situ which allows public involvement and interaction with the artist and the work. Public interest is always high as projects are being carved.
For example a carving depicts the ship wreck of the steamer Killarney and a portrait of a quack doctor Baron Spilasco who surviced the shipwreck. The ship set sail in 1838 from Ireland with 37 people and 600 pigs leaving 21 survivors.
